Unfortunately, its almost unavoidable in today's world to the point where back problems are becoming the norm. 

We're constantly hunched behind a computer, looking down at a phone putting pressure on our neck and back. Not to mention over exposing our eyes to excessive light through these gadgets and other things. 

Other areas that get affected from sitting and typing continuously are the joints such as the wrists, shoulders and neck. This is where much strain can also contribute to stress causing pains and other unwanted experiences.

Not only that, we are hardly moving and as a result, gaining weight and becoming generally unhealthy. With these simple practices you can prevent a lot of these issues and keep the body stronger and healthier for longer.

The Impact on Our Eyes - Issues with our eyes now are so common that many IT professionals get free glasses when their eye deteriorate. This constant stress is known as 'computer eye strain', which can lead to other symptoms such as headaches and difficulty to focus. 

Another modern day problem on the rise are neck ailments. This is said to be on the rise with our usage of gadgets like phones and tablets.

Over time, as we age this has a huge impact on the quality of life!

Furthermore this increases stress and anxiety too in many ways. With stress levels increasing throughout, how we use our body and mind can add to this as well. These tensions accumulate in particular areas of our body such as the neck and back which can add to us feeling fatigue. This will eventually lead to performance and efficiency drop.

About the Workshop

Eye Practices

This Workshop has been designed to teach essential practices to negate these issues and help combat the effects of stress in a very simple and natural way. 

It is a combination of Upa Yoga, Eye Care Yoga & Brain Yoga. This powerful combination gives you all you need to combat the problems of working behind a computer all day and keep yourself and your body refreshed to combat stress and stay focused. 

There will also be insightful videos and meditation to accompany the whole process giving you a complete approach.

Programme Structure

This is a one full day day course from 10am-4.15pm. There will be an hour break for lunch but you may wish to bring something with you. This course includes full Upa Yoga (not taught online of in Inner Engineering), Eye Care Yoga, Brain Yoga & more.

Full Sequence

Upa Yoga are simple yet powerful practices that help deliver the benefits of yoga that most people are looking for without going into the core of yoga. In many ways it is the step before yoga or 'sub-yoga'. We will be offering the original sequence by including the missing practices not taught online or elsewhere. This will be used as a preparation for the eye practices, and put together, will yield numerous physical and mental benefits including:

Eye Care Yoga

Heal & Protect your Vision

These unique practises, devised by Sadhguru, are designed to have a phenomenal impact on the overall health and capabilities of the eyes. The practices can help correct eye problems, such as myopia (nearsightedness) and hyperopia (farsightedness) and strengthen the eye’s overall vision and focus; that can be maintained even into old age.

They are a very simple set of practices including body movements and practices directly for the eyes. It is a natural way to correct one's vision without surgery or laser treatments. The eyes have a muscular structure just like any other part of the body and, depending on the situation surrounding the eyes, can be corrected naturally provided there are no other complications.

This is an ancient yogic practice which can fully activate every aspect of the brain. Fully charging it and helping it to function at its optimum. A very useful practice who are working along hours and to keep the brain sharp and functioning for longer periods of time. It also supports the whole neurological functioning of the brain which can help to avoid other such ailments which occur as one ages.

Who is it Suitable For?

This course is essential for anyone who works behind a computer, at a desk, a job which requires you to sit down all day, someone who uses a smartphone a lot... pretty much everyone! 

If you have back or joint problems or have focus issues with your eyes including myopia and hyperopia then this is something that needs to be incorporated.

This course is a perfect course for beginners who want simple practices for the modern day stresses and problems. Especially if you don’t want to go to a full on yoga course and want something easy and straight forward then this is perfect.

Especially if you are someone who works behind a desk and/or at a computer, or if you are someone who is constantly using a phone then this is something to be really considered. 

Venue

We'll be at a new venue in Blackheath, just a 20 minute train ride from the city centre. Details of the new centre will be revealed soon. It is just a 5 minute walk from Westcombe Park rail station. You can also jump on the Jubilee Line to North Greenwich tube station and its under 10 minute bus ride and 3 minute walk from the bus stop.
