Introductory Taster Session
What is Isha Hatha Yoga?
This introductory session is a brief introduction into Isha Hatha Yoga and enables you to have a taste of the method of teaching. This session will offer insights into the ancient wisdom of yoga and seek to re-introduce yoga in its authentic form. As part of the session you will learn three basic but effective yogic techniques that will allow you to immediately experience the depth of the teaching. These techniques can be practised at home after the session and do not require any particular physical flexibility.
Upa Yoga
Simple but Powerful
Faster pace, aerobic. Promotes deep and even breathing.
Surya Kriya
Original Sun Salutation
Most people have heard of Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutaion), but did you know that this was a simplified version modified to be taught in mass? It was a modified version of Surya Kriya which was the original practice which has much more spiritual significance but due to its potency and power, it was only made available to a select few as it needs a certain level of focus and a committed environment to learn it. As the popularity of Surya Namaskar increases, Surya Kriya is largely being forgotten so it is time to awaken this sleeping gint of a practice. Sadhguru has engineered the revival of the practice through his teachers and is available to learn here at The Hatha Yoga Effect. As all classes are taught in a committed atmosphere, we are able to teach this practice with care needed for one to experience it in the depth that is needed.
This potent yogic practice of tremendous antiquity is a holistic process for health, wellness and complete inner wellbeing. As it is a concise and complete practice, it is perfectly suited for the hectic pace of modern life. Sadhguru says it is a way of activating the sun’s energy within the system and balances a person’s energies leading to stability of the body and stillness of the mind.
Angamardana
Ultimate Yogic Fitness
If you are looking to reach peak physical fitness then Angamardana could be more suitable. It is a fitness system rooted in yoga, that offers a complete workout. Usually, fitness means only two aspects which are good muscular strength and cardiovascular system. Angamardana incorporates this whilst helping to increase flexibility and improve other systems of the body to provide true fitness.
The word “Angamardana” means gaining complete mastery over the limbs, organs and other parts of the body. It is taught as a series of 31 dynamic processes to invigorate the body and revitalise all the systems of the body including muscular, skeletal, nervous, circulatory and respiratory systems. It also prepares the body for practicing the more deeper Hatha practices.
